I was born in Paris in 1964 and I began my art studies at the University of Sorbonne in 1981. From this Institution I received the following degrees:

  • Licence d' Histoire de l' Art (1986)
  • Maitrise des Arts Plastiques (1987, Subject "L'Apocalypse dans I' Art: Probleme d' Actualisation". [Theory and practice])
  • L.E.A. des Arts Plastiques (1988, Subject "L'Apocalypse dans I' Art: Probleme d' Actualisation". [Theory and practice])
  • Doctorat des Arts Plastiques (1995, Thesis "L' icone: Histoire d' une epiphanie. Les ascensions et les descentes du regard.")

During my studies I attended courses in Greek, Byzantine, Middle East, Indian and oriental Art and specialized in the various Fresco techniques. I received my Ph.D. with Honors in Paris where I exhibited my paintings at Sorbonne. The context of my thesis was semeiology of the icon and the relationships of Sacred Image with Contemporary Art.

In parallel with my studies I was an apprentice for 10 years to sculptor Kostas Perakis in Athens. During that time I was a student of the late famous Russian Hagiographer Leonid Ouspensky at the Orthodox Atelier of Hagiography in Paris.

I have exhibited my works in Art Galleries in Athens, Paris, Jerusalem, Ramallah, Bethlehem and Moscow. Occasionally I am occupied with book illustration and teaching painting in public and private schools.
At the moment I live in Athens with my husband and three children.
